The Chisholm Challenge returned in 2025, bringing together talented riders, dedicated volunteers, and inspiring equine partners for an unforgettable event. Held from January 13–15 at the John Justin Arena and Will Rogers Equestrian Center in Fort Worth, Texas, this event continues to showcase the incredible impact of equine-assisted therapy and competitive riding for individuals with disabilities.

A Unique Equestrian Competition The Chisholm Challenge is not just another horse show—it is a testament to resilience, skill, and the transformative power of horses. With 18 therapeutic riding centers participating, riders from across Texas and beyond demonstrated their abilities in a variety of disciplines, including Western and English riding, trail courses, and showmanship.

Event Highlights

  • Opening Ceremonies: The event kicked off with a grand procession, honoring riders and their dedicated equine partners.

  • Western and English Competitions: Riders competed in events such as horsemanship, equitation, and trail, showcasing their hard work and training.

  • Volunteer and Trainer Spotlights: Behind every great rider is a team of dedicated trainers, volunteers, and side-walkers who make this event possible.

  • Closing Awards Ceremony: Celebrating the achievements of every participant & recognizing outstanding performances.

The Role of Volunteers and Trainers Behind every successful rider is a team of dedicated individuals who make the competition possible. Side walkers, trainers, and event staff play a crucial role in guiding and supporting participants, ensuring they feel confident and safe in the arena.

The Horses: True Partners in Success The horses at the Chisholm Challenge are more than just mounts; they are trusted partners that provide emotional and physical support to their riders. These well-trained, patient animals help build confidence and independence for each participant.

The Impact of Chisholm Challenge Beyond the ribbons and trophies, this event provides riders with confidence, independence, and a sense of accomplishment. For many, the opportunity to compete at a high level is a dream come true and a stepping stone for future goals in the equestrian world.

Looking Ahead As we celebrate another successful Chisholm Challenge, we look forward to continuing to support these incredible riders and their journey in equestrian sports. Whether as a participant, volunteer, or spectator, this event is a powerful reminder of how horses change lives.
