Ginger is a regal Quarter Horse mare, born in 2000, and has been cherished by Texas Equine’s Founder, Shelby, since 2003. As Shelby's first horse, Ginger played a pivotal role in getting Texas Equine started, making her a cornerstone of the riding program. Her likeness even graces the Texas Equine logo, a testament to her lasting impact. Ginger is known for her serious attitude toward her work and, despite being a horse, isn’t fond of "horseplay." She loves munching on daisies and carrots, and is always seen alongside her best buddy, Slew. As the alpha of the herd, Ginger commands respect and remains a treasured part of the Texas Equine family.
Dandy is a wonderful Quarter Horse mare, born in 2000, and currently at Texas Equine on a care lease. With her fabulous personality and love for affection, she quickly won the hearts of everyone here. Dandy brings experience in play days, ranch riding, and parades, making her a versatile and reliable member of our team. Her strong work ethic in the arena, combined with her congenial nature, makes her a joy to work with. We are thrilled to have Dandy as part of the Texas Equine staff and love her dearly.
Reign is a spirited miniature horse mare, born in 2011, and a beloved member of Texas Equine since 2013. Shelby, our Founder, adores her, and Reign enjoys bringing smiles to everyone at birthday parties and events. Whether she's driving her cart or showing off her sassy personality, Reign is always full of spunk. She loves affection and is cherished by all who know her. We are so happy to have Reign as part of our equine family!
Achilles is a gentle giant, a Draft Cross gelding born in 2011, and deeply loved by his mom, Debbie. Over the last few years, he has honed his skills in Western Dressage competitions, impressing everyone with his talent and sweet nature. Achilles enjoys indulging in treats like peppermints and carrots, and can often be spotted hanging out with his buddy, Snickers, or amusingly running away from bees with Ace. We truly enjoy having Achilles as part of the Texas Equine family, where he brings warmth and joy every day.
X-Man is a beloved Quarter Horse gelding, born in 1999. A seasoned eventing competitor, X-Man brings both experience and charisma to the Texas Equine family. Known for his playful personality, he loves nothing more than attention and splashing around in the pond. His mischievous antics often make us laugh, and his silly side shines through in the most endearing ways. X-Man is adored by his mom, Katherine, and cherished by everyone here at Texas Equine. We are thrilled to have him as part of our equine team, and his presence brings joy to everyone who meets him.
Ace is sweet and sometimes a silly boy. He is a Quarter Horse gelding, born in 2004. He is a boarder at Texas Equine, adored by his parents, Ellen and James. Ace loves going on trail rides and has a fun-loving personality that makes him a joy to be around. We enjoy watching him grow and learn new skills, and he is a treasured member of our Texas Equine family.
Slew, a Thoroughbred gelding born in 1998, is an unofficial lesson horse who is semi-retired. He is loved and spoiled by his owner, Tammy, and boasts years of experience in the hunter/jumper world. Now a boarder at Texas Equine, he enjoys a well-earned relaxed life. Slew is known as Ginger's shadow, and the two are often seen together, sharing affectionate moments. We are privileged to have Slew as part of our family.
Snickers is a spunky and lovable little guy, born in 2017. Owned by Emily, his background as a hunter/jumper lesson pony makes him a perfect fit for Texas Equine. Snickers knows his name and eagerly greets you when called. Despite his pint-sized stature, he rules his herd as the alpha, and his big personality shines through in every way. Sweet, fun to ride, and full of life, Snickers is the newest addition to Texas Equine, and we couldn't be happier to have him with us!
